Design Process

site assessment

Mother Tree Eco Design offers a comprehensive site assessment as a crucial initial stage in our permaculture design process. This critical first step involves a thorough analysis and documentation of the existing elements on a site. Our meticulous examination covers the site's physical, environmental, and cultural conditions, allowing us to create a detailed base map that includes topography, soil conditions, climate, and existing vegetation.

This in-depth analysis aids in visualizing proposed layouts and facilitates easy adjustments through a sector analysis, which evaluates external natural influences such as sunlight, wind patterns, and water movement. Our systematic approach ensures all aspects of the site are considered, enabling the design to integrate harmoniously with the natural surroundings while addressing any potential challenges identified during the analysis.

concept plan

This vital initial phase brings together imaginative and functional planning to envision the potential transformations of a site. The concept plan serves as a visual and conceptual foundation for further detailed design development and implementation. At Mother Tree Eco Design, the concept plan incorporates permaculture principles and aims to create native gardens that harmonize with the natural world.

The use of permaculture in the concept plan involves integrating cycles and processes that mimic nature, promoting sustainability and resilience. For example, the plan might include zones for intensive plantings near human habitation, transitioning to less managed areas that support wildlife and provide ecological services such as pollination and habitat. Native gardens are designed not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for their crucial role in supporting local ecosystems. These gardens utilize native species that are adapted to the local climate and soil conditions, requiring less water and maintenance than non-native species.

master plan

The Master Plan is the final stage of our design process, integrating permaculture to serve as a comprehensive blueprint for landscaping a property. This detailed plan includes everything from plant selections to hardscape arrangements such as paths and water features, ensuring aesthetic appeal, functionality, and environmental sustainability.

Our plans account for crucial factors like drainage and sun exposure, essential for the garden's sustainability and longevity. The master plan is adaptable, allowing changes based on client feedback or unforeseen conditions, ensuring the garden meets evolving needs over time.

By blending traditional design with permaculture, our master landscape plan creates spaces that are beautiful and beneficial to the environment. This approach not only enhances the space's usability but also promotes a connection with the natural world, embodying ecological responsibility and supporting biodiversity.
