BIOGRAPHY

Gaby has cultivated a deep connection with nature through a life rich in diverse landscapes, having lived in California, Sweden, Hawaii, Connecticut, New Jersey, and now Oregon. While raising her young son, she earned an Associate Degree in Landscape Design and Management, which led to her acceptance into the prestigious Landscape Architecture program at the University of Oregon.

During her studies, Gaby realized that she didn’t want to control nature—she wanted to support it. This realization led her to shift her focus from traditional landscape architecture to a more holistic, nature-inspired approach. Around this time, she was introduced to the book Gaia’s Garden, which profoundly influenced her path. She recognized that permaculture—a design philosophy that works in harmony with natural ecosystems—was the missing piece that united her innate sense of design with her love for the natural world.

After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, Gaby pursued formal training in permaculture, obtaining both a Permaculture Design Certificate and a Permaculture Professional Design Certificate from Oregon State University. Now, as the founder of Mother Tree Eco Design, she applies her expertise in permaculture, regenerative farming, and landscape design to create gardens that are not only aesthetically beautiful and inviting but also ecologically beneficial.

Gaby is currently designing gardens throughout Lane County, Oregon, and beyond, helping both residential and commercial clients cultivate landscapes that support biodiversity, restore soil health, and enhance natural ecosystems—all while being visually stunning and functional.
